Reality TV, Going to the Dogs?

Maybe they just can’t think of any new talents for people to compete for anymore.  They’ve done shows searching for the best singing, musical band, dancing, pick a mate, comedian, inventors, videos, and of course just plain talent of any kind. Have they run out of ideas? Never fear! Now we can have the pleasure of observing every day folks, just like you and me, strive to win the title of the “Greatest American Dog”!

Yes, believe it or not, we are now going to be “treated” with a talent show for Fido & Me. Twelve teams of dog/owner will be competing against eachother, dog talent, and owner training talent. Judges will eliminate 1 team per week, last one standing wins $250,000.00 and (better yet) the coveted title of Greatest American Dog!

The even have a website, listing all the contestants, photos of the pairs, and their bios. The judges are three “Distinguished Canine Critics”. See there? Already educational. I did not know there was any such thing as a Canine Critic! The things we learn form television.

Now, I admit, as dumb as it sounds, I will most certainly check it out, at least the first episode. But it will be for the sole purpose of comparing my dog to theirs, and prove to myself that I have the greatest dog in the world. She’s far from the smartest, but she is the best.
