Wow, Did We Wii!

At the suggestion of my favorite daughter, J, I will share a bit of my first real Wii experience.  She, J, recently invested in a Wii Fit*.  A while back, when these new toys were just coming out, she told me if I ever saw them on sale to let her know.  About a week later I saw a K-Mart sale flyer advertising that a sale was begining that next week.  Long story short, after near failure and dead-ends, and dealing with K-Mart, victory was hers!  She owned the coveted Wii Fit*.
So, after bugging me for a while, I finally went over and we had our Wii work-out. She even made me a Mii*, so I actually exist in the Wii world.
To start out, I had to be evaluated by this computer who told me that after calculating my body mass index (BMI), it considers me overweight. Nice, right off the bat, this machine insults me. But, I stayed to play anyway.
I started out hula-hooping, and did some stepping with all the other little Wii people, walked a tightrope, balancing while avoiding falling off, and avoiding a couple of flocks of bird flying into me, then I was disguised as a penguin, trying to keep my balance on a tilting chunk of ice, trying to catch fish in my mouth, and not fall off the mini iceberg. Later, I attempted to hit soccer balls with my head, while trying to avoid getting hit in the head with the shoes and panda bears that the little Wii people were throwing at me. I also tried a few winter sports, first I did a ski jump, and then I tried to snowboard in between flags, wasn’t pretty. Finally, I was in a big bubble, flowing down a zigzag stream until I hit the wall and burst my bubble. (Doesn’t all that sound like some really wild dream?) Ended with a yoga stretch that did nothing but hurt my feet. All in all I had a good time, and boy, do I ever feel fit! Thanks J!

* Edited by J because my mom thinks it’s a workout Wii.
